The new Lightning conduit skill looks very exciting and I wanted to make a build using it. The problem with conduit is thats it adds a cooldown after each time you cast it, lots of people overlook that. If you use a lightning skill, shock some mobs and then have to wait 2 secs before you can trigger it again its pointless.
You basically can't run that map mod with Lightning Conduit (you could but it'll feel terrible). I think you're underestimating Overcharge, but it does take more investment than Shaper of Storms. In terms of extra links, Thunderfist is pretty good for that because it provides both 100% increased effect and level 30 Added Lightning Damage.

Yes its still stronger than any other lightning skill in the game barring high investment spark and still one of the strongest self cast skills in the game, as long as you reach 65% shock. For example, post-nerf, it still does 2.5x the damage of arc.
