Since 1965 she has been a formidable figure influencing the development of glass as an artistic medium both as an artists and teacher.

The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass first opened in 1959 and expanded in 1965, 1986, and 1997. The space is made up of glass art exhibits and classrooms where glass fusing and flameworking are taught to people of all experience levels. Classes at the Museum are affordable and comprehensive.
